Literacy & Numeracy Through Music

Why Raising Attainment with Music?

for PRe-School EarlY years, P1-3 and SfL

  • Fun, engaging programmes link musical performance to specific numeracy and literacy processing tasks.
  • Teachers can select exactly which phonemes or arithmetic tasks to focus on,
  • Content is coded for and complements major phonics and numeracy schemes-

eg Jolly Phonics, Active Literacy, Read Write Inc, Teaching Number/SEAL etc.
  • Available as whole class activities, activities for smaller groups or for individual work on PCs or Tablets.
  • Designed for non-specialist teachers, all material is available through the interactive white board.
  • Clear lesson plans give detailed instructions on class and instrument management- so anyone can teach these programmes.

"The resources are really good because they bridge the gap for
children who are struggling in a really fun way. It was something I could do with the whole class without having to pick those children out."

Katie D'Souza, Newark Primary, Inverclyde
